Sreyashi Dey, President
Sreyashi's careers span the arts, business and non-profit sectors. Her educational background includes undergraduate and master's degrees in Economics and an MBA. She has worked in market research consulting for several years. Her deep interest and passion for the performing arts has remained unchanged since childhood. Apart from an active career as a solo Odissi dancer, she is the founder and Artistic Director of Srishti Dances of India, a professional touring dance company:
Her involvement and commitment to social issues, especially relating to children and women, developed during her college years in New Delhi where she worked for literacy projects in rural areas and arts education through dance in underserved areas. Her non-profit experience in the US has been primarily in arts organizations, working in areas of multi- culturalism, cultural policy and expanding the reach of arts programming to underserved constituents. She serves on boards of arts organizations, most notably the Multi-Cultural Arts Initiative in Pittsburgh. Sreyashi strongly believes in a holistic approach to the work of SPARSH, harnessing a diverse set of skills, talents and resources of the community to support disadvantaged children and women in ways that connect the different aspects of their lives. |
