Our Role in the Children’s Heart Surgery Project
We work with our partner institutions/surgeons to support their work in treating indigent children with CHD.
On their part, they raise a substantial proportion of the required funds in their local area from various sources such as governmental support, individual donors, corporations and other NGOs. We provide the critical shortfall amount to help a child overcome a barrier to health and life.
Funding Process for Heart Surgeries:
- SPARSH raises funds through various fundraising activities, private donations and corporate support
- Disadvantaged children in need of heart surgeries are identified
- Funds are transferred to the children’s accounts at the hospitals
- Surgeons perform surgeries for little or no fees and with subsidies from the hospitals toward the cost of the operations
- Reports on the surgeries and the post-operative condition of the children are collected and distributed to the SPARSH community
Saving one child at a time is our target. It is a modest and achievable goal. You can contribute either the full or partial amount toward this objective.
You do not have to wait months or years to see what your contribution has achieved. You will know about the life you have saved within a few weeks of your donation, soon after the surgery is completed.
